Karen Kassen is a Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer, member of the NKBA and an Allied member of ASID. She and her husband, Joe, purchased Kitchens Unlimited in 1998. A graduate of Auburn University, with a B.S. in Interiors and Housing, she has been practicing kitchen and bathroom design in Memphis for over 30 years. Her work has been both locally and nationally published in publications such as Memphis Magazine, Fix Magazine, Interiors, Custom Home, Kitchen and Bath Business, and Kitchen and Bath Design News. In 2009, one of her local projects was featured in a short story commercial on HGTV and DIY network. Karen has also been the recipient of several statewide and national design awards including placing in the Caesarstone Dream Design Competition as well as being a regional winner in the Sub Zero Kitchen Design Contest.
Karen, the Principal designer at Kitchens Unlimited, leads the design team by providing knowledge that comes from experience in the business as well as emphasizing the importance of continuing education and staying current with the latest trends and products. She presents her clients thoughtfully designed spaces, and rooms that are classic and timeless using quality products. Karen welcomes working with other professionals in the field such as interior designers, architects, contractors and builders to provide the best support for their clients.
When not working on kitchens and bathrooms, Karen enjoys playing tennis, attending her sons’ sporting events, cooking, and vacationing with her family. She is a member of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) and also a Sustaining Member of the Junior League of Memphis and served on the Board of Directors.
